Background information about the artist & artwork:

Car event exhibitions are about striking a balance between presentation and inspiration. The idea behind this drawing dates back to the 2004 European Concours d’Elegance at Galopprennbahn Düsseldorf, where Henk Holsheimer got invited to exhibit. Instead of being at the booth to present his work to potential clients, he fell head over heels for a participant’s Porsche 904. He found himself lying in the wet grass to capture the car from numerous unusual angles. The final drawing, which was finished almost ten years later, was sold to a collector in Stuttgart who knew Henk from the beginning of his drawing career in the early 1990s and was also familiar with his charcoal collection.
