Background information about the photo:

Ferarri’s 308 GTB was one of the wedge cars that defined the aesthetics of 1980s automotive culture. As rad as the car was from the factory, Ferrari needed to turn it up to 11 to compete in Group B racing, and thus the Ferrari 288 GTO was born.

The engine in the 288 GTO was mounted longitudinally to make room for the twin turbochargers and the necessary intercoolers. It could accelerate from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in around 5 seconds with a top speed of 189 mph (304 km/h), making it one of the fastest street-legal production cars of its time. The one pictured here at Concorso Villa d’Este 2022 is one of 272 produced.
