Background information about the artist & artwork:

Some are good car designers, others excellent engineers. Cay is skilled with a brush and a pencil, making painting and drawing his vocation. As of 2021 he celebrated 30 years as an independent artist and illustrator based in Copenhagen, Denmark. 

From his childhood, his huge fascination has always been with classic cars. Cay is happy to say that the thrill of drawing cars has lived on ever since.

The collaboration with Ferdasco has brought about a new series of classic car sketches in beautiful sceneries. It also serves as a tribute to all passionate people who keep these wonderful cars alive.

The sketch art is meant to reflect the feeling a classic car triggers when you suddenly spot one, or if you are lucky, drive one on a sunny day.

Cay tries to capture the essence of classic car driving, it’s more than just the details in the cars. The sketched strokes are open and dynamic, underlining the old fashioned way he draws with pencil and markers on paper.

His idea and aim are to make artwork relatable to anybody that enjoys classic cars. You don´t need to be a car owner – simply the dream of driving a classic car on a sunny day is a great start.
