Background information about the photo:
Among English automakers, Aston Martin is known for its grand tourers and their heavy presence in the James Bond series of films. The predecessor of the famous DB5 was the DB4, produced from 1958 to 1963. Like many other automakers of the time, Aston Martin created a lightweight, race-focused version of it dubbed the DB4 GT. That version underwent further changes between 1960 and 1963 thanks to the company’s collaboration with coachmaker Zagato. This gave birth to the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato.
This particular example, Chassis # DB4GT/0178/L, is one of only 20 ever produced and is photographed here at Villa d’Este 2019. What makes it even rarer is that it’s one of only eight originally left-hand-drive DB4 GT Zagatos and was displayed at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show.
Information about the photographer:
This photo was taken by Justin Schmöller, a car fanatic and professional photographer from Switzerland. Justin has been shooting cars for well over 5 years now, and has also built a global network of contacts since then. In addition to his successful Instagram blog, he has also acquired a lot of knowledge about the automotive world. If he could chose one brand, it would definitely be Ferrari!
